The kids and the hubby LOVE it and so do I, it's my go to when I'm craving chinese food.
This recipe is courtesy of my friend Veronica :)
Orange Chicken
3 lbs. Chicken, cut into bite size pieces
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1/2 cup of flour
1/2 cup of cornstarch
4 beaten eggs with a little milk
oil
Sauce:
1 1/4 cups of sugar
1/2 cup of ketchup
1/2 cup of water
2 tablespoons of soy sauce
Beat 4 eggs together and add a little milk. Mix cornstarch, flour and garlic powder together. Dip chicken pieces in the flour then egg. Fry in hot oil until golden brown.
Place chicken in casserole dish.
Sauce:
Combine all ingredients and bring to a boil over medium-low heat. Stir until sugar is dissolved and ingredients are blended.
Pour sauce over chicken
Bake at 350 F, for 45 minutes or until chicken is cooked thoroughly.

Looks yummy, but where is the orange? ;-)
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through a link of a link. I made your orange chicken last night for dinner. I must say I was a little hesitant about "orange" chicken with no "orange". However, I don't care if it had orange or not because it was simply delicious! My whole family loved it! We will definitely make it again. Thanks again!

Orange chicken is like my all time favorite! My recipe is really different from yours though if you feel like experimenting sometime. It's a family favorite around here where you can't get good Chinese. http://www.3sidesofcrazy.com/2008/06/wwwew-collides-with-tasty-thursday.html
