Bowties and Blush

Speedy and Satisfying is the category this one falls under, and I have to say it hit it on the mark.

We love pasta but sometimes I get tired of the meat and the poultry and all the extras and just want a good pasta dish with some noodles and sauce and that's it, nothing fancy but good nevertheless.

This one definitely has it all covered and the name is cute to boot.  Another one from the Gooseberry Patch's 101 Hearty Recipes.

Bowties and Blush

16-0z. pkg. bowtie pasta, uncooked
1 T. butter
1 onion, chopped
1 banana pepper, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 T. all-purpose flour
3/4 c. milk
1/2 c. whipping cream
1/2 t. salt
1-1/4 c. spaghetti sauce
1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 c. fresh basil, chopped

Cook pasta according to package directions; drain. Meanwhile, melt butter over medium heat in a large skillet; add onion, pepper and garlic.
Saute until tender; stir in flour.

Gradually add milk, cream and salt; bring to a boil. Mix in spaghetti sauce; reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes.

Remove from heat; pour into a serving bowl. Add pasta; mix gently. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and basil; serve warm. Serves 8.

  2. Looks really good! Did your kids enjoy this one?

  3. This was a winner for my family! We paired it with kabasie (I don't know how to spell it lol) and my husband added ground Cayenne pepper to his.
