Baked Grilled Cheese & Ham Sandwiches!

You know those days when you're making Grilled Cheese sandwiches for everyone and you're rushing to get them all done in this little tiny sandwich maker, then the kids fight over who gets the first one because "I'm more hungry than you?". You know???

Welcome to tonight. Kids requested Grilled Cheese and Ham Sandwiches and I smiled and then thought "Ugh here we go again".

But while I was standing in front of the oven I realized DUH, why can't I just make them all in there, all at once and that way no one gets to eat first and everyone gets their sandwich nice and warm.

I'm sure some of you already do this and probably think me crazy for acting like it's such a big deal, but hey, to me it is LOL

Bake for about 6 minutes, flip the sandwich and bake on the other side for another 5 minutes or so until nice and brown.

Great idea! I'll definitely have to try this.

My trick is to cook them all at once in my George Foreman grill. I've got a really big one, so I can do 5 sandwiches at once. Of course, they come out somewhat smashed and with grill lines on them, but they taste great and you don't have to flip them. (Another bonus is that you don't have to butter the bread if you don't want to. Cuts a bit of fat out of an already high fat meal.)

I also do pancakes on my George Foreman. Same grill marks, but I can serve up 3 big (or 6 smaller) pancakes at once. No more fighting over who gets the first one!

I never knew you could make them like that. Will have to give it a try.

I have never tried them this way, but I will now. Thanks for the fantastic time saving idea!

Hey that looks like a great idea. I usually use my beloved electric griddle for this job but I like your idea too. Could probably also use the broiler - I mean, people other than me who don't burn everything they try to broil!
