Fat Free and Sugar Free Parfait in a Jar

I've been eating this dessert for as long as I can remember.  It was one of those that my stepmom would make when she was in a hurry and wanted to put something sweet on the table.

As a woman who worked outside of the home and having to raise 4 children, I take my hats off to her, she is an amazing woman, strong to boot and super organized.  I learned all my menu planning, cleaning and organizing from her and it's something that has really helped me as I moved onto married life.

She didn't make it fat free or sugar free and I don't always do it this way either, but if my in laws are visiting, then it's one I definitely put out because my Father in law is diabetic.  Honestly you won't even notice the difference, it's just a really tasty super simple and easy dessert and you won't have to feel guilty about all the calories and sugar you're ingesting.

Sugar Free Jello (whatever flavor you wish)
Sugar Free and Fat Free Pudding (whatever flavor you wish)
Sugar Free Cool Whip

Prepare the jello as per box directions, pour into wide mouth mason jars. Depending on how many you're making just divide it equally.

Place in the refrigerator until set, it will take about 90 minutes or so, you need it to be completely set so the layers don't mix.

Once the jello is set, prepare the pudding according to the directions, I follow the 5 minute directions. Pour carefully into the jars, again divide equally per jar.

Lastly, layer on a few a few dollops of the sugar free cool whip, as much or as little as you want. Pop back in the fridge until ready to serve.

My kids LOVE this dessert and I don't mind them pigging out knowing that it's sugar and fat free, truth be told, I feel less guilty indulging in a jar of this parfait myself :)

  1. I am going to give this a try this week. Think of all the flavor combinations that are possible. I never thought to combine jello and pudding in a dessert. Thanks for sharing another great recipe!

  2. That looks and sounds good! What I've done before is make cheat parfaits. Cut up pound cake (or brownies or angel food cake), add pudding and cool whip. :)

  5. [...] Fat Free and Sugar Free Parfaits in a Jar – Hey I knew I was keeping those jelly jars for something!  And aren’t these kind of like those Jello things you find in the refrigerated section of your grocery store?  I thought the next time I have guests, especially if there are kids involved, I’m gonna try these.
