Beef and Bacon Pinwheels!

Another quick meal to throw together, the kids love it because it's like miniature meatloves wrapped in bacon, what's not to like about that?

BTW I forgot to add that I found this recipe online a while ago, I can't remember the site but I am almost 100% sure it's a Portuguese food blog and it may actually be Luisa Alexandra

Beef and Bacon Pinwheels

1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1 packet onion gravy mix
1 egg
2 TBSP white wine
salt and pepper
garlic powder
pepper
Bacon slices

Mix all the ingredients well.....then I use a 1/2 cup measuring spoon and scoop up some of the meat mixture. I used big heaping scoops to make big meatballs.

Wrap a bacon slice around the meatball and then flatten it a bit until it resembles a disc.

Place in a greased oven proof dish and bake in a 450º F oven for about 45 to 50 minutes or until meat and bacon are cooked.

The kids requested some cheese on theirs, so I just placed some cheese slices on a few, popped them back in for about 5 minutes to melt and VOILA...done!

  2. Manda, you're right, I mistyped....I edited the post to the right ingredient, it's onion gravy mix, not onion soup LOL

  7. Sandra, I actually thought of you while I was making the kale soup and knew that yours would be different. I doubt there are two the same, do you? Ha. I actually found some linguica at Sam's Club in Great Falls on our last trip there, so I stocked up!

  13. dumb question. how much salt and pepper, garlic powder do I use???

  14. Stephen, just use salt and pepper and garlic powder to taste. I don't have measurements, I pretty much cook by eyeballing. If I had to guess I would say about a teaspoon of salt and pepper and the same with garlic.

  17. Trying to make these right now, and I'm struggling. I've wrapped the bacon around the patty, but on the grill the bacon keeps falling off. Any suggestions?
