Meatballs and Spaghetti!

It's one of the most common meals in a household isn't it? Just cook up some spaghetti and for a quick fix, use some frozen meatballs and some spaghetti sauce and there ya go.

But I find that if I take an extra 10 minutes, I can make meatballs from scratch, with a fresh tomato sauce...it really doesn't take long to cook and the taste is way better than bottled sauce.

MEATBALLS IN TOMATO SAUCE

1 lb ground beef
1/4 cup bread crumbs
1 egg
1 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp pepper
salt
1 tsp garlic powder (I use McCormick's)
1/2 medium onion, finely chopped (You'll need the other half for the sauce)

In a medium bowl, mix all the ingredients together and form into medium sized meatballs. I get about 16 from each batch.

  2. Mmmm, those look delicious. I have a question though. Is the sauce really tomato-y? The sauce isnt very red, and I didnt know it was spaghetti and meatballs until I read it. Just curious :P Still looks yummy!

  4. Hey Sandra,
I'm going to make these this week- I have a question:
I see an egg in your picture and you don't have it listed as an ingredient in the meatballs.
Is there an egg and is it just 1?

    email me please

  5. Oh, yum! I've never baked the meatballs in the sauce before. Hmm... I hope I have some ground beef in the freezer. This sounds perfect for Sunday dinner!
